Is it worth it?

I'm tired.

Not just physically tired, but I feel mentally drained. Yet even with this feeling pulling me down, I am unable to stop working.

The amount of work I have in law school this year is mind boggling. I am in the computer labs by 7am working, and I leave the labs at around midnight. Non stop work that never seems to end. What is it for as well? A corporate job that would likely entail the same soul crushing work. The same type of repetitive paper shuffling that never has an end.

Yet I still don't stop working....

A Good Day

The terror of being confronted with a failure in my honours thesis three weeks ago has been dramatically transformed. I am now ahead of schedule and I, along with my supervisor, am now convinced that this will be a good piece of writing.

Earlier today, I was also given a phone call by the HR department at the largest law firm in Australia, Minter Ellison. My record of gaining employment from interviews at this stage is 4 from 4. I hope that I can continue this streak.

Cole Hamels Gets the Call

Cole Hamels is in the show! The only thing about this that makes me unhappy is that it sends Ryan Madson back to the pen. He has not pitched well, but I do believe that with more time he will be able to demonstrate his true abilities. I would much prefer to see Cory Lidle sent to the pen. The Phillies should move towards the future with Myers, Madson, Floyd and Hamels.

Is Cole Hamels for Real?

After the Phillies promoted Cole Hamels up from A Ball into Triple A, I knew that it was a good sign. I was expecting him to be strong, but never did I expect anything spectacular.

After three starts, Cole Hamels has a stat line that reads:

23.0 IP, 1 ER, 10 H, 1 BB, 36 K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's time for him to come up! Send Madson back to the pen and welcome with open arms the next ace of the Philadelphia Phillies!

Starting Off...

Beginning a blog is a strange experience... stranger still when you have never written a blog of any form.

I start this blog as a record of my desire to go to Arabia. To live and breathe as Lawrence of Arabia did. To be immersed in the life and the passion of a different world, far away from the one I live in now. The West bores me, with its lack of colour, its lack of taste. The East sickens me with its obsession with the superficial.

I hope that I will be able to find my place in the sun in the middle.
