I got crabs!!!!

.... well I guess it was bound to happen.

Sooner or later these things just happen after all.

You look after yourself, take care of your health....

But in the end.... someone still gives you crabs.

Chinese Hairy Craps that is!!!

Our family friends were kind enough to bring these delicacies back for us all the way from Shanghai. You can get them in other countries now, but rarely is it possible to get them this size! These were each the size of my hand.

Our family tore into these quickly. The meat was fantastic.

God bless America

Thursday was Thanksgiving Day in the US. Many of our family friends here in Singapore are Yanks, so I was able to gain some of the benefits of their festivities.

Our neighbours downstairs (they're from Neeeeew York), gave me some of the pumpkin pie they had left over from the other night!

I love pie....

Right......

My brother came back from the shops with something.... ummmm..... unusual.

He was surprisingly proud of his find.

Sadly, "unusual" turned out to be a nasty tasting magnum rip off.

Off to see the family

With school done it's time to see my family.

My little brother's went to Singapore earlier than me and he's already doing an internship at Allen & Gledhill. But by yesterday, I had put it off for long enough. It was time to go and see the parents.

Not that Singapore is bad... I quite enjoy visiting Singapore actually. I have alot of fun there and additionally it's also going to be my final holiday there as my parents are moving to Newcastle, where my father is taking up the position as the head of Pharmacology at the University of Newcastle (go dad!)

The flight up was actually not too bad either. I was lucky enough to be able to get a seat next to Prabs! She's finished with her vet studies as the University of Sydney for the year so we managed to wrangle it so that we went back on the same flight together. I was even nice enough to give her MY aisle seat.... the things I do for people...

At the other end, I said goodbye to Prabs as her parents came to pick her up and I headed STRAIGHT upstairs in the terminal. Waiting for me was fried chicken and biscuits! I've been waiting for fried chicken all year. I haven't touched a piece all year, so I wasn't holding out any longer. Changi Airport is the only place in Singapore that has POPEYE'S FRIED CHICKEN AND BISCUITS, so I got me some!

Is there any combination better than fried chicken with maple syrup slathered all over the top it!?!? I'm yet to see one! Those Americans really do have the right idea.

When I arrived home, I walked into the apartment to find it completely messed up. My brother had done his best to turn it upside down in the week and a half he had been there... and for a moment I forgot then quickly remembered that my parents were actually in Japan for a bit. I woke up this morning feeling groggy and tired.... but also extremely happy because I realised that whilst my younger brother had neglected to buy anything we needed during his week alone such as bread, milk or general necessities he had remembered to buy a few boxes of poptarts.... I love poptarts.

Cartoon Heroes

It was Toddles' 23rd birthday! He wanted to have a dress up party, and he wanted to have a cartoon themed one, so that's what he got. Everyone had to go to the party dressed as their favourite cartoon character, and for the most part everyone did.

Todd went all out and made himself a Marvin Martian costume. He looked pretty good too!

Rajiv, Pang and I also got nicely dressed up. Rajiv went as "Hanky the Christmas Poo" (he'll be hearing about that one for a while), Pang went as "Super Mario" and I went as Tintin (I even had a little white dog as Snowy).

Oliee, Matt, Jess and Fliss also had nice looking costumes. Oliee went as the Mad Hatter (how surprising....), Matt went as the Cheshire Cat (only the smile remaining), Fliss came as Sheera and Jess came as Cinderella.

Suzanna dressed up as Daphne from Scooby Doo. She was looking very pouty!

However, no one looked better than Angus and Dave! They came with their girlfriends dressed as Bender, Dr Zoidberg, Leela and Amy from Futurama. What is even more amazing is that they MADE those outfits! Those headpieces they have are not bought, they made them with paper mache and chicken wire. Dave was stupid enough to not paper mache the inside of his Zoidberg head... as a result the chicken wire pretty much turned it into a torture mask.... hahahahahahaha.

Emma also looked very good. She came dressed in a VERY skimpy little dress to be Catwoman... for a while I thought that she was by far the hottest looking person in a tight leather dress there.....

That is until I saw Guv in a tight little leather dress.

What a boys' house!

Matt, Oliee and Guv now live together in a share house.

And what a share house it is! This is the classic boys house. It's dirty, there is rubbish everywhere, there are "Ralph" magazine magnets plastered over the fridge, there is beer everywhere....

What is even more amazing is the number of gaming consoles etc in this house. From my count, I found an X-box, a PS2, a Gamecube, a Nintendo 64, an "Atari Classics" game and a Super Nintendo! This is of course in addition to the computers that each of the boys has for... ahem.... work.

Sitting around, I had a few beers as I watched Guv and Oliee fight over some meaningless game.

The Super Nintendo is the greatest thing they have though! It's kept in the kitchen so that they can play Super Mario whilst making dinner.

Betty's Birthday Bash

My friend Betty turned 21 a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately, we were all mired in exam prep, so I wasn't able to help her celebrate... I didn't even get her a present.....

I decided that I had to make it up to her, so I took her out to lunch.

And where else was I going to take her? Silo of course! If I'm paying... I want to be eating something good myself (I don't think that's selfish...) Betty ordered the pate plate (which was fantastic) and I ordered a garlic soup. My breath was lethal for the rest of the day.

After lunch, Betty let me drive around in her Rav 4 for a while, which is a definite step up from my Mitsubishi Mirage. We went to Lyneham where we wandered around in the second hand bookstore.

I took her to Tilly's after that for some birthday cake. Tasty, tasty cake.... that was actually a slice of pie. My intentions were good, so I think it counts.

An equitable "Lian"

Hahahaha.....

Ok... sorry... that was a horrendously bad joke... (law jokes, how can you go wrong?)

Anyway, with exams all finished and brandashing a the remenants of a once mighty hangover, I decided that I'd go to the gym. However, before I was able to wander off, I received a phone call from Lian! Lian used to live at college with me, and we used to have alot of classes together. However, I haven't seen her as much this year due to a combination of her move off campus as well as the thesis work that we've both had. I hadn't seen her in a while, so I jumped on the opportunity to catch up.

With the day looking very nice, we decided to go to Tilly's. It's a nice cafe in the suburbs.

After taking a normal snap, Lian insisted that we embrace our heritage and take a photo of us in a more.... "traditional" asian pose....

I feel embarrassed about that photo already....

We went back to Lian's afterwards where Lian showed me what she used to do when she first moved in and had no furniture yet, watching TV whilst sitting on her "poof".

And that's the ball game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, now I'm done! Now I am COMPLETELY done!

I have finished my last exam ever a few days ago to go with finishing my last ever classes a couple of weeks ago.

Four exams in eight days was tough!

But can you see how happy we all look now that it's all done? Emma was sitting in the next row, a few seats down from me and she told me that when she turned around to look at me, I had the biggest grin she had ever seen on my face!

Phil and I were sure happy. He did what I did last semester by tackling a law thesis this semester while concurrently doing two law subjects (unlike the one that most other people do)... I think he agrees with me when I say it isn't a pleasant experience.

Emma and I were also very happy. We've had all four subjects with each other this semester, so we have seen ALOT of one another... it's almost strange not seeing her practically everyday...

And who can forget Guv? Has anyone ever done so well at university while attending so few classes???

Emma decided that she was so happy that she needed to shout from the rooftops.
