Tim's Room(s)

I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that my room resembles a crack den.....

I've even come to the point where I've begun to consider cleaning it.

In the meantime, I've been around my brother's alot. Call it my gradual weaning off of campus life.

As a Senior Resident, Tim not only has a huge amount of responsibility for the younger (and some older) students in his college, he also has the run of an entire floor! To counter-balance all this responsibility, he gets TWO rooms.

One of his damn rooms is bigger than where I'm staying now and he gets two of them!?
There is no justice.... just no justice at all....

Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles!!!!

Happy birthday Oliee!!

It all started out innocently enough....

Oliee wanted a birthday party that was themed with one of the most important influences of our young lives.... the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles!

It was a simple thing as well. Everyone had to show up dressed in the COLOURS of their favourite ninja turtle.

Lurking in the background was just a taste of what was to follow as the night went on....

Oliee and Guy had decided to take the 'colours' theme a little further and where both dressed up completely as the turtles with body paint and faux shells.

Don't they look great?

.... having arrived in a blue headband, blue wrist bands, blue shirt, blue jeans and blue shoes... I didn't think that I would have to do anything... but after surprisingly little encouragement.... I became the THIRD TURTLE.

Oh God.....

The turtle theme continued on through the party into Oliee's birthday cakes.

With a bit of liquid persuasion, Matt became the FOURTH TURTLE!!!!
Oliee then decided that since it was his birthday... he needed some lovin'

As the night went on.... more and more turtles joined the cause.....

.... I'm still finding green paint everywhere......

Goodbye Steve... .Goodbye David

Well, now it's my turn to say goodbye to others.

Two of my old friends have left Canberra, David and Steve.

David has moved to Adelaide and Steve has moved to Melbourne.

Thankfull there was enough time for one last goodbye for the both of them.

David setting up his shot!

Fernando and Steve... it'll be sad when Fernando leaves as well....
Our last beers at the Phoenix.
Duy insisted on getting a "refreshing" drink.
One more pic of the boys all together.

It's going to be a while before we're all together again.

Back in Oz

So I'm back in Oz.....

Out of college/dorm/boarding school for the first time in about 8 years as well.... a very strange feeling.

I arrived feeling SICK. I mean really sick.... sore throat, dizzy spells, feeling like I was about to throw up constantly.

My new room with Angus and Kirsty initially consisted of a mattress on the floor surrounded by all of my stuff.

It hasn't really changed much since I arrived....

I always forget how dry it is in Australia.

Churchin'

I found some pictures on my camera of my church in Singapore.

Good ol' baptists! I think we had one of the few pastors in Singapore who could be called a "preacher" in the Southern sense of the word since he's a Floridan from the pan-handle.
Let's not forget the church worship leader either! Former band leader at the Raffles Hotel who quit for a life in the ministry! Damn he can sing as well!
Look at the two little Canucks I used to look after! Cute little twins Alison and Abigail! I used to look after them in the church creche. I was the only one aside from their mother who they could be left with! They'd cry non-stop with anyone else.....

That's it... time to go

I was so sick... the final few days were bad.... really bad.

High fever and I lost my voice.

But I still had to go and say goodbye to some people. Before I became bed-ridden, I was able to say goodbye to Felix and Weilin. It's been along time since we all worked together and now they're both high flying lawyers.

On the last night, Aunty Folake (mother of my godbrother and godsister) came to say goodbye with the kids. She brought me some mashed yams and sauce.... I love Nigerian food. I didn't have a bowl though so I had to eat it out of a tea cup. Finally we were off. Sitting in the BA lounge, I was able to get a bit of food and sleep whilst waiting for the plane. Oh God I was sick....
