A beer or two....

God I'm tired....

Rushing to finish work that should probably have been done a week ago isn't fun.

But... even though I wasn't finished, I decided that I had enough.

I went to find Todd to get a beer.

When I found him, he was there with Oliee, Oliee's French roommate Pauline and Kirili.
Don't Todd and Kirili look cute together!
Kiz was working behind the bar which meant a nice flow of drink for us all.
We later went back to Oliee and Pauline's.....
All in all.... a fairly pointless night.

Tasty and fun

The words "greatest thing in the history of the world" are probably thrown around alot these days.....

But I think that I have found....

The greatest thing in the history of the world!

Imagine Spiderman....

Then go and imagine cereal....

Then go and COMBINE THE TWO!!!!!!!!!!!
SPIDERMAN CEREAL!!!!!!
As you can see, I'm very confused... it's a rush of emotions that I can't seem to contain...Until I come to the realisation that the emotions are those of overwhelming happiness!!!
How could anyone not love Spiderman cereal????

Getting some tucker

I was wandering around Manuka with Todd the other day looking for some food when we stumbled across this cafe we hadn't encountered before.

The "Ironbark Cafe".
Apparently it has not been around for long, so we thought we would give the food a try.

It turns out that this cafe specialises in "Australian" food. Not "fusion" or the garbage they call "New Australian".... but Australian food, made using Australian ingredients.

We ordered a platter of damper and dips. It was very good. A nice change from the normal turkish bread and dips which has become disturbingly boring.

Australian chillis, bush tomatoes, native nuts.....

They even had a nice cup of lemon myrtle tea for me. It was definitely better than whatever we were going to have. Whatever that may have been....

Goodbye Cirque......

No more Cirque......

It blows.

Canberra is back to its boring old self.... it's a painful fact I need to get readjusted to.

Before they left, Vashti invited a few of the Cirque people to her house for a BBQ.

Pedro and Robleno were quick to find the football! A Spaniard and a Brazilian playing football.... never would have seen that one coming..... Pedro looked soooooooooooo ill from the night out we had just had.... I left at around 3am ish.... he kept going till about 7am ish!

A bit of food changed him completely though.
... nice food and lots of it.

Visitors in the night

I had an interesting visitor last night as I was about to go to sleep....

I walked into my room and found myself confronted with a dozing possom on my window sill.

It didn't seem to happy that I disturbed it and quickly jumped onto the window itself before fleeing to the safety of the roof.
Damn possoms.....

Philly Cheesesteaks

Tim and I were hungry the other night, so we made our own versions of Philly Cheesesteaks.

God I felt sick after eating them......

Partying hard

I feel sick.... I've been out way too much this week....
Everyone is up for a night out.... be it the performers or the staff....
Pedro (from Icarian Games), Gemma and I have been having a great time.
Even Rodrigo Robleno has been coming out.
A snap of Dion and myself (with Mel's hat on)

Jeremy tried to do the trick that Robleno was doing... but not to the success of Gemma.
Robleno with the "Maluca" (Mel).

We even managed to see Joao out and about with us all!

Out and About

I love the Cirque....

Greatest job I've ever had... possible the greatest job I'll ever have!

I've made some really interesting friends from my time there as well.

Lizbeth and Javier were the two first people I met. Javier being one of the acrobats in the Icarian Games act of Varekai, and Lizbeth being his wife.

They had both been so nice to me, so I thought it would be nice to take them both out and around Canberra.
Both of them loved Parliament and they found the War Memorial to be amazing like everyone else!
We saw Aya at the War Memorial too.
After wandering around Canberra, I took them both for some drinks and food at Julep Lounge. We found Rajiv working there which was nice.
Raj and I introduced Javier to the "Blue Blazer".
Lizbeth and Javier seemed to enjoy the food and drinks.
Strangely enough.... we were invited to a BBQ while we were out. Not a normal BBQ though, a Portuguese BBQ!
Javier's brothers had made friends with a Portuguese restaurant owner who held a big night at his house for some of the Cirque performers.
Here's the juggler from Cirque Octavio with his little baby Vivien. He and his family are from Mexico.
Javier's brother Ramon....
At the end of the night, I took them both up the mountain to have a look at Canberra by night. Too bad the photo didn't come out so well.....
