Nature's bounty

There are lots of things I miss about living in Australia.  Fruit and produce would have to be near the top of the list.  I never fully expected that.  I knew that the quality of what I would get in Hong Kong wouldn't be good, but it was a shock to see how poor it was at times.  There's definitely a great "variety" available, with options shipped in from all over the world, but quality can sometimes be wanting.

Visiting my parents in Newcastle, I joined them on a trip to the local grocery store.  Just walking through the fruit and vegetable aisle was a quick reminder of the true bounty available to Australia.  The moment I walked in, the smell of the mangoes hit me.  Stacks of them, all piled high.  I loved it all when I lived here, but this was a simple reminder of some of the best things I missed about home.
