This is the end...

So this is it! I'm finished! University life is pretty much over as all I have left are my exams. I had my final classes ever yesterday. It was a strangely bitter-sweet experience to realise that five years have passed so quickly.

As I walked towards Law School, my iPod shuffled onto "This is the last time" by Keane.... how fitting.

With class finished, Emma, Suzanna and I celebrated by opening a bottle of champagne (which Suz did by nearly shooting a poor bystander in the head)!

Our lecturer Shae was also VERY happy to come and have a drink with us! When we asked her to come and have a drink with us, she charged up through the seating screaming "BOOZE!"

Helen is also finishing, and looks as excited as the rest of us.

... and once I got outside... I just couldn't help but jump for joy!

Penultimate.

I'm almost there. I'm almost done. I'm almost finshed.

I had my second last class EVER today. It was my last ever tutorial as well. After an intriguing hour of intellectual property law, I bid goodbye to my lecturer/tutor for the last time....

We WON!

... too bad it wasn't the final.

Our indoor soccer season has come to an end, and our team finished a respectable 3rd. We played most of the season leading the competition only to fall to third when we drew a game. We lost our first final, but we were able to salvage something by winning the 3rd place play off! The final score was 3-1, and Rohit scored a hat-trick.

Rohit decided that since he was our lead scorer for the season, he needed to display his "golden boot" for everyone to see.

All in all, it was a very fun season for us. We scored ALOT of goals.

Nick ended up being awarded the "MVP" award, proudly sponsored by Coopers....

We all enjoyed a few beers at the end of our match by watching the Grand Final... the winners ended up winning 6-2!!! We really should have been there... at the very least we would have put up a fight. The way things go I suppose.

It's elementary!

The end of my university days is fast approaching...

For some of my friends it has already come!

For Adam and Geoff, this tutorial was their final class at university ever!

Don't they look pensive as the end slowly comes....

However, for Emma and myself there are still a few more days to come. Emma seems to be taking it in her stride nicely though.

And let's not forget Lesley... her final class ever and she's still front and centre! Such a nerd.....

A nice hard sinker

I went out and played catch with Angus...

Dear God he has a strong arm.

We're a happy team at Hawthorn

Look what I bought online the other day.

My very own Hawthorn guernsey. It's a heritage styled one as well, modelled on the 1980s styles, so it's got a collar unlike the modern day ones.

P!nk

Lil' Nithya came back from Singapore and look what she brought back for me! So thoughtful of her isn't it?

Tasty pink 7up! Always refreshingly sweet.

Summertime

I think summer is definitely coming.

I bought my first mango of the year today! The smell of it is penetrating into every corner of my room. It can't be long until cherries and peaches are back as well!

I wonder if this wave of warm whether has anything to do with global warming.....

Start spreading the news!!!!!!!!

I'm leaving today...

Well not quite. However, my boss recently gave me a stack of his old copies of "The New Yorker", which make me very happy. I don't get to read this magazine much, and I'm generally too cheap buy it. When I do read it, I am usually just going through it one article at a time while standing around in a news agency.

I'd clearly rate it as my second favourite magazine... (after TIME magazine of course!)

Curry in a hurry?

Who needs to have a chilli cook-off when you can have a CURRY cook-off!?!?!? It was recently Guv and Stead's b'day, so for a party we all decided to have a nice big curry party. It turned out pretty well! Lots of food (even more beer) and lots of fun!

Doesn't everyone look happy????

I wonder what these birds are?

I was wandering outside my college a few days ago, when I noticed that a flock of birds had landed near the feeder. They were strange looking birds though, I have never seen anything like them.

I wonder what type of birds they are....

Up there Cazaly!

I love AFL! I have since I was young. Growing up in Melbourne, it was the one thing that everyone had in common. I still remember how shocked I was when I first moved to Canberra and was forced to realise that when people spoke of "football"... they were actually referring to Rugby.....

So, this weekend was the Grand Final weekend! Swans against the Eagles, always an exciting encounter. My team didn't even make the finals this year (... again), so I was a Swans supporter for the day. Watching the game with the Comyns boys, I don't think it would have been possible not to have been a Sydney supporter.

They had a nice BBQ spread set up and we went for a kick at half time. Unfortunately, the Swans went down by only ONE point.... poor Angus, Dave and Scotty.... they were shattered.

Before I left, I was able to grab one of the bottles of the amazing wine that Scotty had brought down from the winery for Sarah's birthday. The bottles are amazingly beautiful aren't they?

We're hiding!!!

What do you do when you're trying to procrastinate in the law library?

You try and jam one of your friends into the book compactus of course!!!

Emma and I were meant to be working on our Labour Law essays.... but we were getting bored. It was hard to concentrate, and when we walked to the compactus to get some journals.... well.... we decided there were better things to do.

It's amazing! Emma can fit PERFECTLY into one of the compactus shelves. I even closed up the entire shelving line on her so that she couldn't get out! I tried to get in myself after she had climbed out... but I couldn't fit.....

Loosen up baby!!!!

WOW! How often is it that you get to go to a lecture given by SANDRA DAY O'CONNOR!!!

First EVER female Justice of the US Supreme Court! I went to the lecture, and I wasn't disappointed at all. She is amazing. Amazingly intelligent, so quick and she has a wit to match. Listening to her answer questions at the end was hilarious, she is a little sarcastic and doesn't take any garbage from anyone!

Even the people around her see the need to bow to her feet!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

Sarah turned 30!!! For such a big occasion, her family held a party and invited me. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to bake a couple of pies and to take them over to their place.

After all.... pies would be a great dessert for the nice simple gathering of family and friends right!?

Oh how wrong I was.... this was not a simple gathering by any means.

As you can now see from the pictures of the family as well as the picture of Angus and Sam, I made a slight misjudgment. This was no simple gathering of friends and family for some food on the BBQ.... oh no.... this was a true Comyns family party! I really should have known better. Unfortunately for me, I arrived at the party in a pair of jeans and an old t-shirt. Thankfully, a VERY SHOCKED looking Angus quickly dragged me upstairs and kitted me out in some of his clothes. Now dressed up with a collar, I was able to go down and confront the party and all of its fun and fare.

Doesn't Sarah look gorgeous with her mother?

There was even a large marquee set up behind Dave and Angus' house. The night turned out to be great fun! The food was amazing and the wine was flowing. The middle son Scott is a wine maker in the Hunter Valley as well, so he set up the party with cases of amazing wine that he brought with him. I may have had a few drinks.... but only a few....

I think I stumbled off at around 2 or 3 am... I forget these minor details.

Seriously... Silo.....

I love Silo.... I can't get over how amazing this cafe/bakery is! I went there today after my indoor soccer game with Todd (we won 6-2!!!.... but I was the only one on the team who didn't score). We met Angus and his sister Sarah (who is visting from Wagga Wagga) there.

Just sitting around in the cafe is nice. It has such a chilled out atmosphere. Waiting around for your order and talking there is always pleasant as well with the scent of coffee and freshly baked bread wafting through the air.

Look at Angus and his sister Sarah! They're both very photogenic aren't they? It's such a nice picture of the siblings. Too bad David wasn't able to come, he has food poisoning!

After the damage was done. The soup was fantastic!

I love this website!

This is such a great website!

http://mysite.verizon.net/heyjude421/chf/chf.html

And to top it all off, the subject matter is very important as well.

I always enjoy reading about important and relevant information in a day and age where media spin has warped reality.

Moooo!!!!!!!

Look what my friend Connie sent me!!! I haven't seen Connie in about three years. In that time, she's been working in Zambia and in Pakistan for aid organisations and now she's back home in Canada.

Isn't it cool? I thought it was a postcard at first, but no! It turns out that it is in fact a letter! The envelope has been shaped like a cow. I was so excited when I first received it.

Even opening it at the back was exciting! I had this rip thing I needed to pull to get at it.

Just a quiet day

It was a quiet day, so I went and played catch with Angus. It was good, though I had to go and ice down my catching hand after we had finished. It is very disturbing how quickly you can become rusty. My throws were off and my glove work was poor to say the least.

We had dinner at his place and then we went to visit Todd at his work where we had a quiet beer to end the night.

Flying down the slopes

I went up to Thredbo for a few days to visit my old friend Bryce. It had been over 9 months since I had last seen Bryce, so I thought it was time to pay him a visit. The trip also gave me a chance to improve my terrible skiing skills.

I love going up to Thredbo! It's so picturesque up there and the air is so crisp.

I managed to improve my skiing significantly. I am now finally up to the task of tackling intermediate runs.... even if it is at a very slow pace.

It's always very intimidating being on the snow with Bryce... even if it isn't on skis! He's a 20 point skier, and my last memory of being on skis and on the mountain with him involved me struggling to keep up while he skied backwards and attacked me with his stocks.

This trip was also the first time in over a year that I drank coffee (I normally stay away from it). I felt an almighty rush as the coffee kicked in almost immediately. Apparently the cafe we drank at ("42") serves some of the best coffee in Australia.

A quiet lunch.

I went and had lunch with David, Angus and Todd the other day. We went to this bakery/cafe in Kingston called "Silo".

I like this cafe. The food is good (if not a bit pricey) and the service is excellent. It has a nice atmosphere too. Relaxed and a little bit uppity.
